About Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes was founded in 2011 by Andres “Chico” Gonzalez, Jr., who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to supporting first responders and their families after injury or loss in the line of duty. Andres was injured while serving with the New Orleans Police Department on May 22, 2006. Inspired by a desire to pay it forward, Help for Heroes, Inc. was created as an ongoing fundraising effort to assist fallen and wounded first responders and their families throughout the greater New Orleans area.

We are proud to partner with a wide range of local organizations, businesses, and individuals who share our commitment to supporting our heroes. Through collaborative fundraising efforts, our partners help us extend our reach and make a meaningful impact in the lives of first responders and their families. We are grateful for partners such as Tiger Equipment, Bayou Fighting Championship and Barman’s Fund, whose support has played an important role in furthering our mission.
